Hi,
Many products need further specification besides amount when ordered. An example is a sweater where the buyer also needs to specify size and color. Also, some of these settings might affect the final price.
So, how does one provide additional settings for a product? Is it a datatype, or what?

I asked similar question and people told me I should be using matrix datatype.

Hi Sam,
Thanks for the tip. Have you tried it out? Do you know anything about the matrix datatype. I did an extensive search for it here at the ez.no site yesterday, but found nothing.
Thanks in advance !
Sincerely,

I don't think there is a way for the Matrix datatype to affect the item added to the shopping cart. Though I hope I am wrong in that belief as it would make my life much easier.

Then what do I need to do? Considering the seemingly endless possibilites of eZP, this should be fairly easy to accomplish.

Wish I had a clean answer for you Eirik. I had to build ten different extended product forms to account for the different combinations of our products. This was rather annoying to say the least. I spent a lot of time trying to find a different solution, but had no luck.
I truly hope eZ systems increases the flexibility of the shopping cart to account for these variations. Right now the e-commerce functionality is far too focused on items that do not have variations like books, software and CDs.
