Hi,
I've seen this question a few times in this forum but i haven't managed to find an answer to it.. which makes me wonder if its doable with out having to hack the kernel...
Currently we're building a site that has 3 different user registration types. Each type is an User Group and all with different access privilages. This should all be automatic depending on what membership he/she chooses the user should automatically de under that group.
My question would be if there is a way to manage this? I'd need for an user automatically be put in the corresponding user group upon register.
Once again thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,Fabricio

Hi Fabricio,
Did you ever get this problem solved? I'm in pretty much the same boat over here and wondering what you did to set things up.
Appreciate any feedback, and thanks in advance.

Hi
You can create a workflow event to create a node assignment , and assign it with the pre-publish trigger. See http://ez.no/products/ez_publish_cms/documentation/development/extensions/workflow_events

Is there anything more extensive to read on this matter?
It seems to me that it must be a pretty common thing that a site would offer a number of account types and pre-sort registration into pre-defined user groups. Hasn't anybody written a Howto on this somewhere?

Hi Andrew,
What do you mean.. if there's more documentation?? I think not.. but by the way i got this done... I have 3 user groups and a user chooses what he wants to sign up as.. and even later he can choose to upgrade his account wich in ez talk means moving the user from one group to another..
Let me know if you need this and i can paste some of my code..
