Well, to make it short : I have installed :
- Apache 1.3.27
- PHP 4.2.3
- Ez publish 3.0-1
- MySQL 4.0.12 It was working well and then I started to configure ezPublish (I know, I know, if it is not broken, don't fix it) .... I have followed some advices that were in the 'Finetune System' portion of the setup process. After that, no more database connections was available. It took me a while before isolating the issue : it seems that if I enable the mbString extension in my 'php.ini' file (php_mbstring.dll), the database handler is no more available. By looking forward, I notice that the failure was not involved with the ezmysql driver, since it seems to happen before getting into 'ezmysqldb.php'. Anyway, I just wanted to share this wonderful slice of configuration experience. By the way, I appreciate the product.
