URL translations

I haven't looked at EzPublish for a little while and thought that it relies solely on Apache webserver. The homepage suggests that any webserver supporting PHP will do - is this true?

I managed the install procedure ok (apart from AcceptPathInfo On) setting. I went for the 'plain' site to start with, however the URLs :-

http://localhost/ezp/index.php/plain
http://localhost/ezp/index.php/plain_admin

...do not work!

I am running Xitami as my webserver along with PHP 4.3.5 -- does PHP require some sort of module/setting to rewrite the URLs or is there someway of acheiving this from Xitami.

Any help would be appreciated.
