warning error with database character set

Good day,
I am trying to install the eZ publish 4.0.0, but i am stuck in the site details page, i keep getting this warning message:

"The database [db237249126] cannot be used, the setup wizard wants to create the site in [utf-8] but the database has been created using character set [iso-8859-1]. You will have to choose a database having support for [utf-8] or modify [db237249126]" .

I have check out my database character set it is not [iso-8859-1], but rather it is [utf-8], this is my MySQL charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8), cos i am using MySQL 5.0

I dont know what to do i have read other issues like this on the forum, and done all that is been stated but still i am stuck..

is there something i am doing wrong.

Thanks for your reply..
I have just ran the query and the default charset is utf8
but i am still having the same problems, with the wizard.

Dont know what to do next...

Hi Albert,
I am still stuck here with this warning about the charset ...
But i saw this write up, and dont know i guess i will have to try it out
to see if it works out

Guess to try out the configuration in this ini.
* site.ini
* i18n.ini
* template.ini

Will let you know if it works out..
But i you devise a means around it prior to me, let me know also.

Hi Albert,

Nice to know you sorted it out..
But funny that method did not work for me,
Did change the collation setting to utf8_unicode_ci
But did not work for me...
Just dont know what next to do.

Hi Albert,

Thanks for the info,
i got that sorted out...what i needed do was to
change the default character set from [latin 1] to [utf-8]
but i still am stock at the ending of the installation
it is giving me the message

The following errors were detected:

* EZSW-004Failed inserting data to mysql
Table 'ezapprove_items' already exists
* EZSW-040Failed to initialize site package 'ezwebin_site'

If you think you have fixed the errors you can try then click the "Retry" button.

still looking for a way around this
