Hi,

How can i modify ezurl operator and system generated urls to use "-" instead of "_"?

i.e. show developer-forum in the url instead of developer_forum.

And the other part of the question is how can i make the system redo all the system generated urls? Just deleting empty tables and make a script to redo the urls?

Thanks,

Luis

This subject was briefly covered recently and while the thread is a longer read with a lot of parts worth skipping, it still does leave a trail of the key clues to use as a basis of a solution, which <i>can</i> meet your needs.
<i>http://ez.no/community/forum/install_configuration/is_it_possible_to_browse_by_node_id</i>

Though when you think about it. What we really need to come from these threads is an extension containing patches against 3.9 and svn trunk which provide for these changes in a more graceful / example way. So people how wish to hack this feature of the kernel can do so without having to repeat so much duplicate work each time, no?

It seems baffling that so many eZ publish users seem to avoid this level of development at times. Is it lack of examples, perhaps but I don't believe it is as much anymore ... The community has really flourished in the last few years.

Well back to the wakeup call, it really is 2007, if you want to do something you don't see already laid out for you to use perfectly with others making it happen in front of your eyes. You have a possibly difficult choice ... give in, give up, give out or adapt and push your self to the next level, *anyone can do this* your going to have to accept that you will have to put in time creating by hand the components or modifications to stock eZ publish usually including but not limited to template changes, settings changes, knowledge of the kernel/ an lib/ directories or ability / time to spend studying up to form a basis from which you can start modifying eZ to provide for the features you need (working within eZ instead of outside it).

Meaning eventually `the edge` is found in the kernel, even if you only write an extension your using just one of many parts which provide for it. eZ publish kernel and lib hacking in PHP (and it gets detailed at times) is where you must turn when eZ simply does not provide or gets in the way of your feature request/need. I'm all for kernel hacking :)

More people should learn it's merits, responsibilities and very tempting possibilities ...
Looking forward to a book one day sounding something like ... 'eZ publish Kernel Hacking - For profit and fun!'

Ahh! Here are a few other useful and related area of code mentioned in another thread,
<i>http://ez.no/community/forum/developer/change_the_url_uri_separator
http://ez.no/community/forum/setup_design/how_to_manualy_change_the_url_alias
</i>

An don't forget you'll prolly need to regenerate your nice urls via ( 'update/common/scripts/updateniceurls.php' ) cli script :)
