Force a site design in a workflow event?

Hi,

We're developing a workflow event that generates a PDF and queues it for printing. We can generate the PDF (a slight modification of the code from kernel/content/pdf.php did the trick), but it always reads the pdf templates from the standard design.

Is there any way we can force a certain sitedesign in the workflow event for the pdf generation, regardless of the 'current' sitedesign? I have tried the setOverrideAccess() in eZTemplateDesignResource, but that didn't appear to change anything.
