German Umlaute Frontend/Backend

Dirk Bensel	Tuesday 18 May 2004 6:06:28 am System-Config: FreeBSD, Apache2, PHP4.3.5, Imagemagick, mySQL 4.0.18(myisamchk Ver 2.6 for portbld-freebsd4.9 at i386) + eZpublish 3.3.4 German: Hallo da draußen, Habe ein Problem mit Umlauten. Wenn ich die ini-Dateien(site.ini/i18n.ini/template.ini) auf UTF-8 stelle, dann klappts in der Seitenansicht, jedoch nicht im Admin-Bereich. Wenn ich auf iso-8859-1 stelle, dann gehts genau andersrum nicht. Desweiteren werden Umlaute beim Anlegen von Verzeichnissen oder Texten immer automatisch rausgekürzt. Womit hat dass zutun? Habe gelesen, dass mysql da evtl. schwierigkeiten mit hat. Ist das ein Grund? Hilfe, ich geb auch nen Kaffee aus. I switched the ini-files(site.ini/i18n.ini/template.ini) to UTF-8, after that content will displayed correctly in the site frontend, but not in the admin-interface. I changed the ini-files back to iso-8859-1, admin interface ok, content site very strange. A second problem is, those chars where cut out by creating folders or articles. why? I've read that there should be a problem with an old mySQL version. Is that the main reason? Help, i will spend some coffee. regards Dirk --- ROCK ON Dirk

Es muß doch ne Möglichkeit geben, das zumindestens in den angelegten Artikeln, alles normal läuft. so wie hier im forum... warum klappt das bei mir nicht .. hmm --- ROCK ON Dirk

Please setup a new installation (fresh) and selcet the german Locale on the installer Do still you have those kind of errors?
