how to create a pdf table?

Hello,

the example says 

{pdf(table, $rows, hash( showlines, 1 ) )}

but how can $row be filled ? And filled with what type of data (maybe an array?)?

$rows is filled by kernel/classes/datatypes/ezxmltext/handlers/output/ezpdfxmloutput.php .
$rows is an array of the results from tr.tpl and th.tpl .
