I use apache 1.3.28 under windows 2000 server whenever I add the following lines of code to my virtual host apache won't start! (following the ez documentation on this) RewriteEngine On RewriteRule !(^/design\|^/var/./storage\|^/var/storage\|^/var/./cache\|^/var/cache\|^/extension/./design\|^/kernel/setup/packages).\.(gif\|css\|jpg\|png\|jar\|js\|ico\|pdf\|swf)$ /index.php (the rewriterule is on 1 line) any ideas?

any ideas?

the problem is solved. I had not activated the rewrite module in apache httpd.conf ;-(
