@Damien. I see your points. At the end, same happens with our company and with our customers. they ask for lot of things and we have to choice what to offer first.

but let me add something... you said

By the way, refusing to upgrade just because of this is weird to me, if you look at the others improvements the upgrade may bring... but anyway.

In this case, the problem isn't because is weird to me. the problem is it's weird for the final customers. i really appreciate the changes from 4.3 to 4.4. Really. but you know, i can try explain our customers that now we can have session in files, better cache management or lot of TECHNICAL improvements... but probably, end user doesn't know a thing about what is PHP or Javascript.

And in this concrete said, feedbacks from customers are "We need more time to do some things than before. Bring us back the combo with the classes. better than this dinamyc menú". It's not me refusing to upgrade, it's my customer saying me that. and you know, probably he's not right, but he has the money :).

It's like Microsoft telling everybody moving to windows vista because new interface, stability and so on. at the end, people prefer windows xp because interface :).

Similar things for me few weeks ago with ubuntu 11.04. don't know what they tried to do, but just 15 minutes after install, i googled to see how can recover the look of 10.04...

Cheers.

@Damien: It's all clear now. But I do agree with Carlos though.

@Carlos : I totally understand your points too, My previous employer was an IT service company (it was not so long ago, 4 months ;-)) and it was sometimes difficult to sell an upgrade that does not bring any concrete new cool thing the end user (or something not so cool new thing...). We definitively need to make eZ Publish sexier release after release not only technically but also from a end user perspective. And in fact, the only thing I said, is that you (as a community member) can participate (if you want obviously) and we (eZ) are very happy to see any contributions on this. I also understand you have time issue, each day only has 24h :-)

Cheers

Hi guys,

I am also really looking forward to seeing this pretty boring issue solved. I believe the key here is to spot the right UX concept. Pen & paper will probably help, or such tools as gomockingbird.com. When the eZ Roadmap tool will be launched (next week), this feature/enhancement will be likely to be the place of choice to collaborate on such a feature. More on eZ Roadmap in here presentation : http://www.slideshare.net/jeanvoye/nicolas-pastorino-ez-community-innovation-and-opensource-inside see recorded session : http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/15414410 ).

Just taking advantage of this thread, to which i see very long-distance members participate, to tell you that the paradigm shift introduced by eZ Publish Community Project is to be embraced 100%. We are all striving, today, to make available about all necessary tools for a high-pace community innovation. These tools are only here to support the spirit, definitely present here today. Some of them, like the issue tracker, the code repository, doc, were already existing. The introduction of eZ Roadmap, of the Community Project Board, guidance on participation and a Reputation system, all on their way, will instill instinctive reactions, reflexes, in every eZ Community member's brain when it comes to pushing eZ Publish ahead :

"

"Yeah, I can actually contribute myself to eZ Publish, let me rock that now !"

"

will be written in the pop-up bubble above the head of the dude :)

Keep-up guys, we are in the process of building the most awesome CMF on earth. Simply.
