I have searched for but can not find reference to an extension for the purpose of implementing a forum within a site. I would like to create a site that is a periodical with both the ability for users to set up a blog as well as participate in forum discussions. I would also like for the users to be able to submit articles/stories for the site. I see that all those features are part of this site and it clearly indicates that this site is powered by eZ Publish. So, my question is, are there already extensions available for these features, or are they features that have to be coded in using the system to create the objects and specifying template files to deal with user input and site display.

I have tried many searches. If you know of some terms that result in what I am trying to find, that would work too. I do not mind doing the research...

Hello Steven,

Install ezpublish with package ezflow, All your needs are there.

In fact, you only need to download ezpublish, last version is here http://ez.no/download, choose eZ Publish full installation, and Launches the setup, ez will ask you which package to install, then choose ezflow (there are two possibility; with demo content, or without).

Package ezflow will install an other extension ezwebin. is this extension who offer forum and blogs feature.

Ezpublish is great :)

Hi.

I haven't tried it myself, but you could give xrowforum a try: http://projects.ez.no/xrowforum. Let us know what you think.

Thanks for the reply. I had seen both the ezflow and the ezwebin but thought that they were "example" setups. Am I to understand that there are not modules for each feature that can be loaded individually to build up to the end result wanted? A lot of the tutorials I read talked about using one or both of those and then went on to dicuss creating/administering content using them. Some said to use the "Plain Site" option to get a clean slate to build from. I was hoping that would then let me select and use modules/features as I needed with the ability to build a site that would be clean of anything that I absolutely did not want or need. It may turn out to be that I want and need everything that these two "packages" have, but is that the only way to go?

So, if those are what I need, do I have to scrap and reinstall? Are these modules that can be downloaded and installed into the "Plain Site" package?

I really like the eZ Publish solution as compared to others and especially like that it is built from eZ Components which gives me the ability to use it as a starting point for development and gives me a "framework" to work with that will integrate well. There is only one other PHP based solution that I have come across that is built with a framework that is aslo available. I have heard of a few others, but do not find anything of significance about them. The eZ solution is the only one that also has a templating feature that allows design to be easily separated. I mention this so that everyone has a point of reference for my questions about all or none...

Thanks, I will take a look at that. I think that I noticed it was new and in beta which may be why I have not looked yet, but I will check it out.
