Unable to get ezxmlinstaller to update class

When i try to add a new field this is not reflected in the admin gui. When trying to run the installer with createclass and existAction set to replace i get a warning that the ezContentClass set function is not defined. Looking at the superclass this is correct. My question is this: Does updating an existing class with new attributes not work? Does updating an existing class with removing attributes not work (i believe the answer is no as the code is commented out..:) Please let me know if there are examples on how to do updating of existing class with new attributes as this is very important in my case.
