Can someone explain how Clearing view cache works in eZ Publish?

a) Is it a cronjob which clears view cache when publishing a node (for the node, for the parent node, for related objects, for similar keywords)

b) if it is a cronjob to clear the view cache, the name of the cronjob is?

Not a cronjob.

It is done realtime when an object is published.

Viewcache for object, parent, and related objects is cleared.

You can finetune this by parameters in viewcache.ini, bu enabling the smartviewcache.

Look up more in the online docs: http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/4_x/features/view_caching

In the back office, a contributor can click on the picture next to the content title in the content preview box.

After, in the tooltip, he can choice the option "clear the viewcaching of the current node or clear the view caching à the subtree".

To open this functionnality to my contributor without giving the administrator role.

So could you tell me what is the right and single rule to do it ?

I have tested the rule "setup -> managecache -> no limit" but it is not a success.

Thx for your help.

Why would you want to do that, Johann ? :)

I have configured further smartViewCache rules.

But if I have forgotten one, editors can always force the cache cleanup.

So it is possible to do it ?

The solution :

you affect the fonction "managecache" of the module "setup" without limitation
