How to send forum notifications to anonymous users?

I have a site where there is a forum where also anonymous users are able to add topics. I need to send a notification mail to the user who created the topic about new answers to the topic. I have an email field set up in the form through which the user sends the topic infomartion and I would need him/her to be notified at that address. Any way to achieve this ?

Then you would need to write your own notification module, cause the standard one is linked to ezuser.
