How to stop editor automatically changing URL?

We've experienced a weird and annoying problem with eZ 4.2.0

We published a page containing a link to an external URL which was slightly wrong (incorrect case). Then when we tried to publish the page with the corrected URL, the URL was always replaced with the original URL (the first letter was changed to a capital rather than lowercase). Clearly eZ Publish was remembering the first URL as the 'correct' one and changing it for us? How to deal with this problem? It seems over-zealous for eZ Publish to correct external URLs when I enter them!

Hi Andy,

This might be a silly question, but did you try emptying the cache?

No, it's not a silly question, I often ask other people that question do. But in this case I did remember the Golden Rule of eZ Publish -- "Clear the cache" and it did not fix the problem. In the end I got round it by adding a final slash to the external URL, which wasn't recognised and so wasn't corrected.

I still find it a strange idea that eZ Publish should try to correct the case of external URLs when I enter them, can anyone explain why it does that?
