Search results appear in reverse input order - oldest first

The first thing that people comment on with our newly launched site, is that the search results come up in reverse order. So if I uploaded new content today, I would have to wade through many many pages of results, to find it listed at the very last spot.

We have good reason to have the recent stuff coming up first, as we have a big civil - defense emergency happening here right now.

Is there somewhere I can change this setting ?

We are using the standard search, but will go to SOLR later when the heat comes off.

Hi,

You can sort your results in simple search by published desc order. But ezfind with solr will be better choice because it has relevance sorting (default ez search does not).

Thanks for the response Ivo, but what is simple search ?
Searching on "simple search" in this forum and the ez.no documentation site does not bring up any obvious hits.

It seems strange to me that out of the box, ez displays stuff in backwards order ?

With simple search I mean default ez search system, as a opposite to ezfind extension which uses solr as search subsystem.

The sorting can be easily adjusted in templates. Regarding the out of the box order it can't be good for all implementations, of course, but luckily you can adjust it.

Best I "adjust it then" as my latest search results are already 29 pages deep. Excellent.

I will search up the documentation on how to edit the search.tpl
