In the adminstration view go to "setup" and select "classes". There you can either add a new class or change an existing. Select the "article" class and edit it. Add a new attribute "object list". Give it a name (the name of the field shown when creating or editing and article) and an identifier (lowercase version of its name with spaces substituted with underscores). Select the allowed classes, "image" would be the only one for this example, I think. Store the class with the changes and return to the "content" section and create a new article. Now, when you create a new article you will find an additional field at the bottom. In there you can add images, and you will be able to add name, caption and upload the image. I don't know the exact tagging to place the images in the story though ;) But you could create a template for article which lists the images. I also think there is a way to add existing images to an article, the "object relation list", there is ways to tag where to place content from those in the article, I believe. Object relation list works the same as an object list, I belive (I have a non working older beta of this functionality, so I'm not 100% sure). As for your other questions, the publishing date is probably just a part of the object you can insert into the article template. Check the design forums. The pages might work with tags in the xml input (the body of an article), if not you could create a class "multipage article" which has an "object list" of articles, where each object in that list is an "article". You could use that method to create classes like "book" having lists of "chapters" which have "sections" and under there "subsections"... You get the idea.
