URL wildcard with page anchor link (#) fails

A particular alias type that we want to create requires that the URL being aliased contains a # character. This is because the page contains javascript that reads the text after the # and builds the page display upon it (it's a jquery-based faceted navigation system with history, so the pages can be bookmarked). However, when I create a URL wildcard alias with the # character, it gets translated into %23 before being processed, so the alias fails. Has anyone run into this problem before? Is there an EZPub-based solution, or will I have to resort to .htaccess redirects to solve it? Thanks! x
