I use several cms's (PHP-Nuke, PostNuke and PHPwebsite) on several domains (rrhobbs.us, rrhobbs.net, rrhobbs.net/phpws) and stumbled across ezpublish on the net. I was intrigued and thought to give it a try , I saw there was a win installation meaning I could try it locally; if it works for me I will use one of the domains I have parked and put up a site.

I d/l'd the Windows installation and was very impressed that it came with/installs php, apache and mysql! I had taken a stab at installing these myself seperately without much luck.

The installation ran seamlessly however everytime I tried to open ezpublish or ...admin windows would say 'there is no file association', so I tried changing them still with no luck...

Anyway to make a long story short what worked for ME was:

1> Start Apache server (its in the ezpublish folder)
2> Start PHP
3> In the EZSystems folder there is a shortcut, 'eZ publish 3 admin', if you right click and look at it's properties, its url is 'http://localhost/index.php/admin'... cut and paste this into a browser. VIOLA!

4. Look at the shortcut next to the one above and do the same thing to see the EZPublish demo site.

Now to try to figure out how edit this thing!

I know this is a dev forum and there are probably some real devheads that read it and are rolling your eyes but I am an example of others that stumble onto these things and (hopefully) I have helped someone else.

I'll look here later if anybody has suggestions how I might have saved or can save time opening EZPublish...thx for any help!
