How to remove the index.php in the Url's ?

Hi,

This might looh like a silly question but how can we remove the index.php in the URLs ?
I suppose it has somethiong to do with Apache.
Do we have to put an htaccess somewhere ? Each timle we try it we get a server error.

read the section about virtual host install in the documentation.

What if you dont have access to the apache conf files?

Then you have to live with the "index.php"
