Przemysław Suszek	Monday 14 July 2008 6:41:32 am Hi, I just install ez 4.0 on php 5.2.5 and I have problem with install. I set date.timezone = CET and this works fine. But when I finish install and rename file to .htaccess I cant go to my website bcs I have error 500, with htaccess. what can I do with it ?
Piotrek Karaś	Monday 14 July 2008 7:59:41 am Hi and welcome to the community, Why do you mention the <b>date.timezone</b> setting next to <b>.htaccess</b>? Do these two seem related in any way, or date.timezone simply makes installation possible in your case? Please look at your server logs to find out the server configuration problem more precisely. You also may want to ignore .htaccess file at first, and try to complete installation. Then, if it works, add piece by piece to find out which part is causing problems. Niall Watts	Tuesday 15 July 2008 7:51:32 am I am having similar problems to Przemyslaw. I tried to install ez 4.0 on php 5.2.6 with mySQL. At every step in the installation, I get an error message about date.timezone for functions <i>strtotime()</i> and <i>strftime()</i> as below: [15-Jul-2008 07:22:46] PHP Strict Standards: strtotime() [<a href='function.strtotime'>function.strtotime</a>]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/Denver' for 'MDT/-6.0/DST' instead in /home/myURL/public_html/ezPublish/lib/ezfile/classes/ezlog.php on line 127 I renamed .htaccess_root to .htaccess as suggested in the installation instructions. This seemed to cause an error 500. I cannot go back or continue with the installation. I have looked in the error.log and the only error refers to the <i>strtotime()</i> and <i>strftime()</i> functions as above. I have added <i>TimeZone=Europe/Dublin</i> to php.ini but this seems to make no difference. If I try to restart the installation I also get an error 500. My only thought is to remove the installation and start again but of course I might get the same problem. Any suggestions please.

Personally I set up virtualhost settings as described in the doc instead. Niall Watts	Tuesday 15 July 2008 9:39:57 am Thanks Andre. I seem(?) to have fixed date.timezone issue. I did not change .htaccess but still get error 500. The database with 108 tables is set up. I did not get a confirmation email. Error log still shows strftime() and strtotime() errors though they do not appear during the installation. any suggestions/ solutions? Thanks
