install issue

karen hughes	Wednesday 21 January 2004 5:50:55 am hi, Ive got s a strange problem, i've done a download unpackaged, and uploaded to my web-server, but when i open www.mysite.com/index.php, all i get is a blank screen..... clearly i have done something silly, can anybpdy tell me what i have done? many thanks

Which version of Apache, PHP, MySQL are you running, what did you do (exactly) and if there is an error in the webserver's log file. The community will probably help you sort it out, I'm sure. However, you'll have to provide more information so that people can actually diagnose your problem. Your description of the problem is way too "general". Please, try to be a bit more specific. Other things: are you sure that your webserver is capable of running PHP scripts, etc.? Again: more info needed! :-) Balazs

Dear Karen,

You'll have to provide a bit more information. Which version of Apache, PHP, MySQL are you running, what did you do (exactly) and if there is an error in the webserver's log file. The community will probably help you sort it out, I'm sure. However, you'll have to provide more information so that people can actually diagnose your problem. Your description of the problem is way too "general". Please, try to be a bit more specific.

Other things: are you sure that your webserver is capable of running PHP scripts, etc.? Again: more info needed! :-)

When I had this happen, I think the problem was the memory. If you can set the php memory up, chances are good, that you get past the blank screen. :-)
