required version confusion

There seems to be contradicting information between the version mentioned in the pdf manual, in the online manual, on the download pages and here in some posts in the forums. Please, can someone confirm the minimum version of php to use with: ezportal v 3.6.4 ezportal v 3.7.2 Different hosts offer different versions, and I would not want to pick a host with the wrong version ...
