I would like to have in root node(id 2) object of other class than folder.
How could I do it? Can I set other node as root node or set other object in that node?

You can do this in (atleast) two ways:

1)
Create a subfolder and use this as your root node. You need to update a lot of settings then (PathPrefix, ...)

2)
In the content structure menu on the left side of the admin interface, you can left click on the icon of the root node. This will give you a popup menu. In this menu you can select Advanced -> Swap with another node.

Option 2 is probably the best one for you :-)

Yes, I think 2 option will be the best.

Thanks for answer, i have been looking for this menu quite a long time :) (it was LEFT clik ....)

The left click is a bit tricky, because the browser steals the right-click, its not possible for us to use that, so we have to use the left-click :-)

Switching was successful, but now there is a mess in admin interface.
Whatever i click (Content, Design Setup etc), I get message:

The requested page could not be displayed. (20)

The requested address or module could not be found.

Possible reasons:

* The address was misspelled. Try changing the URL.
* The name of the module was misspelled. Try changing the URL.
* There is no <test__1> module available on this site.
* The site is using URL matching to determine which siteaccess to use, but the name of the siteaccess is missing from the URL. Try to add the name of the siteaccess, it should be specified before the name of the module.

Edit:
I can also switch back to the old root node. The same reaction.

Any help or suggestions?

Strange, It worked when i tested here.

Which version of eZ publish are you running?
Does it always say (in media, content, users), "the module <test_1> was not found" ?

Yes, I get it working. I throw that ez publish installation and start a new one. I was short of time and this was only a testing installation.
Maybe there was a problem with configuration of class that was in new root node. It has only one attribute named new_attribute. This attribute was text line with "test" value.
Like I said - testing installation.
After switching nodes there was something werid with objects names. For example: old node got name: "__1".

Im running version 3.8.1.
"the module <test_1> was not found" was shown almost always. Only looking over attributes of objects worked properly.

I have a backup of database, if you want to look over this database i can send it to you.

Testing is allways good.

When you have a class you should allways have one required field (the first one) which is a text-line. This will then be used as the name for the objects you create.

Well... actually the name is given by the object-name-pattern, but if you do not specify anything there, it will use the first attribute as object name pattern for your installation.

I will do some small test, and see if i can replicate it. No need for your database dump.

<i>Well... actually the name is given by the object-name-pattern, but if you do not specify anything there, it will use the first attribute as object name pattern for your installation.</i>

I think I might do something wrong with object-name-pattern. I probably set name pattern to relate to non-existing field.
