Upgrade from 3.3-4 to 3.3-5 Image problems

Has anyone else seen this problem? Ez refuses to resize images, so all are their original size. Error:

The filter 'geometry/scaledownonly' is not supported by any of the image handlers, will ignore this filter

I'm using Linux, apache 1.3.29, php 4.3.4, with Imagemacgick. I tried recompiling php with GD support (thinking I could ditch Imagemagick for now), but my page wouldn't load at all. error: <b>Ez publish could not finish the request</b>.

Anyone?
