best_sell_list and main node only

I would like to fetch best_sell_list from a subtree, but the products are added in this subtree as aditional location, and not as main node. And it seems that best_sell_list fetches only main nodes, so when I fetch it from this subtree I get nothing. I there a way to solve this? Would an upgrade to eZ 3.10 help? -- Nothing is impossible.
