contact form - add new element

Hi,
I add a new element (text field) to contact form.
But then I had to edit the template to see this new field in the user-interface.

Is there a way to create new elements without changing the template?

You do need to modify the template to display the new field.

However, you should override the template and make changes to your override template which goes in your siteaccess' design folder.
