new notification type needed. help!

Alessandro Cipriani	Wednesday 16 June 2004 2:02:22 am hi all in my site i'd like to have the administrator be the unique person able to subscribe the OTHER USERS to some node. In this way i wish to implement a mailing list function, but i want that the administrator controls this access to the mailing list. i'd like to have a template to select each user and assign to him the node for the notification. Any hint? should i create an extension? best regards alessandro

The eZ crew have got the spesifications(functionality descriptions) from us, and we are wondering if it's better to develop this as an extension, rather than make adjustments to our system and implement a solution like this, so this "module" can be used on other sites as well (maybe as a standard of eZ publish). I think I'll get feedback from the crew today or monday, so we'll see if they can develop this as an extension on the estimated budget.

I wrote to ez for the new notification system made it too expensive, because I wanted this to be developed as an extension, but then our notification-system had to be totally rewritten, so I guess we have to fix something by ourselves. Or maybe we can share the costs (if someone also needs this kind of functionallity)? I've posted some info here: http://www.ez.no/community/forum/developer/new_notification_system_for_preventing_spam I don't have so much time in june or july, but if we make this complete, I can add the php and tpl files for our existing notification-system in the contribution area.
