I have a problem setting up a test installation, and I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction to fix it. I've seen a message on the board that says this can be fixed by "enabling the datatype in site.ini but I can't see how to do that. Here's what happens -

During setup I made the following choices:

I have no smtp server so I use a fake smtp name, "test" in that step.

I didn't put in the socket number, then I used 3306 for my mysql server

American English as my primary (just the radio button, not the checkbox)

Site type is "plain"

Image System is reported as "ImageMagick"
Mail is reported as "SMTP"
Database is reported as "MySQL"
Language is reported as "eng-US"
Site is reported as "Plain"

I don't add any functionality in the next screen.

In the Site details screen I make no changes

The Database I made is called "ezpublish", which I created with "create database ezpublish" in mysql command line. No options or anything.

In the original installation, the Site Details screen did not show me any warnings. Subsequent installs show a warning that "Your database already contains data..." to which I reply "Remove existing data"

The screen shows the following:

Title: Plain
Site url: http://localhost/index.php
User path: plain
Admin path: plain_admin
Database: ezpublish
Action: Remove existing data

Then I click next

The Site administrator page comes up, I fill in my email and my password twice, then click next

The Site registration page comes up, I uncheck the "send registration" box because I have no smtp server and I click next.

My database server starts thrashing and after a 30 second interval I get the error message in my web browser window:

---------------------------------------------------
"Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in c:\ezpublish\ezpublish\kernel\classes\ezcontentobjectattribute.php on line 251
Fatal error: eZ publish did not finish its request

The execution of eZ publish was abruptly ended, the debug output is present below."

John, could you give us more info about your PHP version, Apache, etc. Do you use any PHP accelerators? More information about eZ publish requirements here
http://ez.no/ez_publish/info/requirements_for_ez_publish

You can use eZ publish installers as well.
