Can I override the ability of a user group to edit versions? I'd like to only present them with edit a the latest version when updating their own details...

Can anyone help with this please? I've tried everything I can think of - doc/forum etc :(

Unless I don't understand your problem fully the answer is simple: override the edit template with a restrictive one of your own.

You can see an example of this in

Haven't tried it myself, but according to the new documentation on http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/3_6/concepts_and_basics/access_control, it is possible to limit the access to version status.
