Improve SEO features avoiding text duplication penalties in multilanguage sites

Davide Garzetti	Monday 17 January 2011 7:54:36 am Hi, I found that when a site is configured with the site.ini variable RemoveSiteAccessIfDefaultAccess=enabled and there is at least another site access available it can occur in a content duplicate penalty by Google. The module "switchlanguage" does not consider this site.ini setting and always redirect to url with the siteacess specified in the url. In this way Google Spider finds two different urls (es. www.site.com/Company and www.site.com/eng/Company) with same content and it penalizes as "content duplicated".
