Strong suggestion to check forum subscriptions - such that if you click 'keep me updated' then the button should change to something like 'stop watching this topic'.

That would be good. I would like some recognition that the current topic is in my list of notifications.

For the moment you can switch off notifications by going to the notification link at the top of the screen...

Currently we can't implement that without turning off the view cache. The view cache is based on the roles you have.
This makes it impossible to have personalized templates for content viewing.

So until we fix this problem we just can't implement this.
