Access problem - www.example.com/index.php works - www.example.com doesnt

Hi ,

when i try to access my EZ publish site thru internet with normal domain address ( www.example.com ) it doesnt work and gives the following error message.

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Apache/1.3.28 Server at dozer2.ez.no Port 80

However i am able to access www.example.com/index.php without any problems.
Can anybody help me?.

This has to do with permissions in apache. You could set the DirectoryIndex to index.php in your httpd.conf. Or you could enable directory listing in apache, but I would not recommend doing that.

I would recommend that you use the rewrite rules for eZ publish so that you don't need to have index.php in your path. This is also more secure. You will find information about the rewrite rules in the installation manual of eZ publish.
