Hi guys,
Really looking forward to watch this place evolve.
My initial thought is that the left column has got to go. As of now, it's taking up valuable screen real estate that could be put to much greater use by increasing the width of what is now the center column.
It also makes little sense to keep the content currently located in the left column throughout the site.
Just my initial 2 cents.
Sincerely, Eirik Alfstad Johansen http://www.netmaking.no/

Code snippets often get trapped inside a box with an annoying scroll bar now. Therefore I agree, the width of the actual content should be increased. The best way of doing this might be removing the left column, which has very little added value.

Agreed. Also, since I posted this, I can see that the right col has been removed several pages to increase content width. Still, I belive that the left col could be removed on pages like this: http://share.ez.no/forums/feedback-and-ideas-for-this-portal

I have a working solution but the caching needs a little work unfortunately.
What i have is to allow the columns to change dynamically. If the user wants a larger forum view they can click on a preference and it will change. This will be restricted to forums, and may be a global preference for all forums. We can refine this.
How does this work for you?

Sounds like a good idea. :)
Looking forward to seeing it in action.
