Last Modified Date and Time inconsistant between different languages of the same article

We publish an article's eng-GB at time-A, then publish its chi-PRC at time-B, we want to sync eng-GB's last modified time stamp to time-B too, need advice how to to do it? (I think I need to develop some cronjob at the back end to sync the last modified date and time)
