I spent a lot of time to translate "translation.ts" on 3.7.5. Now, when installed 3.8.1, some the term are not translated.

Then I fired up linguist and viewed the statistics and found that there are about 65 added words.

I really don't want to translate this file again.

What to do?

Hi,

We have the same problem with Polish translation.
There were prepared files for eZ publish 3.7 and eZ OE 4 and sent to eZ. In eZ p 3.8 versions there are still the old one.

How the translations updates work in eZ publish download packages.
Do anyone keep an eye on them?

To update an existing translation for a specific language, just run ezlupdate -no [LANGUAGE]. You will only have to translate new messages, the translation of known messages is still there.

To create an untranslated file of an extension, cd into [EZPUBLISHROOT]/extension, then run ezlupdate -e [EXTNAME] -u. The untranslated file will be located in [EZPUBLISHROOT]/extension/[EXTNAME]/translations/untranslated/translation.ts.
Don't forget to let eZ publish know that your extension contains translations, in [EZPUBLISHROOT]/extension/[EXTNAME]/settings/site.ini.append(.php):

[RegionalSettings]
TranslationExtensions[]=extname

Thanks Kristof for showing the solution.

However my question was more about build-in translations in eZ publish packages. There are many translations, Polish one is quite poor. We improved it and send to eZ some time ago, but there is still the old one in 3.8.

Now, I am in touch with Lukasz Serwatka. He promised to help us.

Rebards,

Juliusz
