For example, may I use OE if I am using Firefox (Mac version).
OE does not support Safari, does it?
Thanks

On Firefox OSX it works for all I know. Don't know about Safari, but probably not.

OE does not work on Safari. AFAIK they have not implemented an Online Editor in their browser yet.

Are there any firm plans for the OE to work with Safari?

It works in Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Mac OS-X 10.4. There are some problems with 10.3. It does not seem to work correctly in Safari on either version of OS-X.
I have had some strange behavior with non-functioning icons in the OE on the Mac, but it seems to still store the content.
