ez 3.5 on Globat - finetune errors

Takuya Misawa	Friday 18 February 2005 4:07:33 am Hi, all. I'm trying to install ez 3.5 on Globat (http://www.globat.com/) server. I've first tried the finetune and it showed that I need to modify php.ini file or add some lines to .htaccess. Since my server is virtual and does not have access to php.ini, I am now trying to modify .htaccess. However, everytime I edit, I get the 500 Internal server error and I can't go further. It seems that I need to add: php_value magic_quotes_gpc 0 # and php_value register_globals 0 But adding them doesn't make it fine... Łukasz Serwatka	Friday 18 February 2005 4:12:40 am If you need a recommened hosting for eZ look here http://www.ez.no/partner/partner_list/(partner)/hosting/(sort) When using PHP as an Apache module, you can also change the configuration settings using directives in Apache configuration files (e.g. httpd.conf) and .htaccess files. Takuya Misawa	Friday 18 February 2005 4:24:06 am But it doesn't mean, ezpublish can't run on other servers. If there are so many regulations with this program it wouldn't make business. I've seen some people running ezpublish on other servers, but not mine so far. If don't mind, would you please teach me how to edit .htaccess file as I haven't touched this before. Łukasz Serwatka	Friday 18 February 2005 4:58:48 am Yes, your Server API is CGI. I don`t recommend this hosting ... PHP as CGI is slower then mod_php. Łukasz Serwatka	Friday 18 February 2005 5:05:57 am Ask for help administrator if you have some problem with htaccess file and with eZ publish. From version 3.4 eZ publish works with PHP as CGI.
