For localhost (on your Mac OSX)
- First of all you will need to have Apache, PHP 4.4 and MySQL installed.
I think MAMP - http://www.mamp.info will do it all for you with a few easy clicks although I don't have a Mac myself and so haven't tested it for the right version etc... Once you have done that the technique is that same for localhost or on a webserver. 1) Create a new database and a user with full permissions for that database in MySQL - how you do this depends on your set up. 2) Unzip the eZpublish zip file to your public html directory (ie. the one that serves the html files when you go to yourdomain.com or localhost). 3) Once unzipped, just visit the homepage of your site (yourdomain.com or localhost) and follow the onscreen instructions. It may ask you to chmod some files which is basically just setting permissions for the cms to work. It will also ask you which features you would like.
