Hi,
We run eZ on a RHE 3.0 system with php-4.3.9 (bad boy) and mysql-4.1.12-3.
We currently have problems to upload images in the Media library. The image is shown as an unknown size file and no preview is available. eZ error log displays the following :
The reference alias original file var/tpg/storage/images/media/images/agencerendumonnaie/13286-1-fre-FR/agencerendumonnaie.jpg does not exist [ Aug 29 2006 10:12:28 ] [10.1.0.94] Original alias does not exists, cannot create other aliases without it [ Aug 29 2006 10:12:28 ] [10.1.0.94] Failed creating the referenced alias reference, cannot create alias large[ Aug 29 2006 10:12:33 ] [10.1.0.94] The reference alias original file var/tpg/storage/images/media/images/agencerendumonnaie/13286-1-fre-FR/agencerendumonnaie.jpg does not exist
The problem is that the directory var/tpg/storage/images/media/images/agencerendumonnaie/13286-1-fre-FR/ does not exist on our file system.
Any hint ?
Thanks,
PO

To use eZ publish 3.7.x (or more) you must have PHP 4.4.x or more. With PHP 4.3.9 you should use eZ publish 3.6. It's because of changes in references handling between these versions of PHP.

Thank you for your answer.
My machine running php-4.3.9 is a production one and I have php-4.4.3 on a test machine.
Unfortunately I have exactly the same problem on this test system which hosts the same database and eZ installation as the production machine.
How can I solve this problem ? Do I have to reinstall everything from rags on a php-4.4 system ? Is my databases definitively currupted ?
Thanks in advance,

Hello PO Michel
The most common reason for this problem is that the permissions of the var/storage or its subdirectories are not sufficient. Always happens to me when I upload a locally created EZ installation as I usually forget to extend the correct permissions to the already existing subdirectories of var/storage.
