The eZPublish 3 requirements page lists: PostgreSQL version 7.1.3 or later. But it appears that actually 7.3 is required. Setup makes the call: SELECT pg_catalog.setval ( "ezbasket_s", 1, false); But: http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-general/2003-01/msg00849.phpdescribes pg_catalog.setval as a function not available before 7.3

To work around replace all instances of pg_catalog.setval with setval in kernel/sql/postgresql/cleandata.sql.
Known to work with PostgreSQL 7.2.1

I believe this has been fixed for the 3.2 series, all SQL has plain setval usage. You can try the second beta which is coming out today, or wait for the stable release on 17. sep.
