Hi,

After completing the upgrade from 3.4.4 to 3.5.2 I have a problem with the new default site. If I click on "Content structure", "Media library", "User accounts" I get the following error message:

The requested page could not be displayed. (3)
The requested object is not available.
Possible reasons:
The ID number of the object is incorrect. Please check the URL for spelling mistakes.
The object is no longer available.

However, "Webshop", "Design" and "Setup" seem to be functional.

If I change the override.site.ini SiteAccessSettings to use my previous administrative site access then everything works normally.

Any suggestions on how to get the new admin system working with my old content?

Thanks,
ken colwell

Hi Kenneth,

Are you sure that you have run all update scripts?
Check if your folder class has set is_container flag.

Setup->Classes

Try also manualy clear the cache, just remove all files from var/cache and var/(prefix)/cache.

Hi Lukasz,

Thanks for the reply but I still haven't gotten it to work. I found the following for the folder class:

Name: Folder
Identifier: folder
Object name pattern: <name>
Container: Yes

There was no change after manually deleting the cache files.

Here is the debug report obtained when clicking the "Content Structure" tab in the admin system.

eZ debug

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone,

So I thought that my problem might be related to having upgraded this same database about a million times since version 2.2 so I switched to a clean install database then cleared the caches and I'm still having the same problem. So my next guess is that this problem is being caused by something in the directories that I copied from my existing 3.4 site per the instructions on this page:

http://www.ez.no/ez_publish/download/changelogs/ez_publish_3_5/upgrading

Design files (usually located in /design)
Data files (the complete var directory)
Settings (located in settings/override and settings/siteaccess)
Any custom extensions (located in extension/)

Does this seem reasonable to anyone? everyone? no one? Can anyone give me a clue as to what could be causing this problem.

Thanks,
Ken Colwell

Hello,

I've been able to solve my own problem by adding the following settings from my previous admin site access' site.ini.append.php to the default admin site.ini.append.php.

Thanks,
kenneth colwell

[RegionalSettings]
Locale=eng-US
ContentObjectLocale=eng-US
TextTranslation=enabled

[FileSettings]
VarDir=var/storage

[ContentSettings]
TranslationList=

[MailSettings]
AdminEmail=colwelkg@muc.edu
EmailSender=

[ExtensionSettings]
#ActiveAccessExtensions[]=ezdhtml

I'm guessing that the problem was related to the locale not being set in the default admin site access and that the default was not set to eng-US. However, after getting it to work I didn't do any further investigations.

Congratulations Kenneth,

You write great forum messages! Rich with the details of your situation documented instead of left open to assumptions or interpretation.

I wish to no end; That I could put a shinny star on this thread to mark it as having very good forum message content composition to call attention to your messages and say <i>"Everyone, write more details like this user!"</i>.

Even better you learned yourself just how to <i>Save Yourself</i> which has gotta be a more powerful learning tool than being spoon fed. <i>Give a man a fish vs Teach a man to fish ...</i>
