I have an ez publish installation on which we are running several sites. On one siteaccess the 'marker' text is appearing in the source code.
For example if I right click in a browser and choose 'view source' on the site in question I can see:

<!-- START: including template: design/standard/templates/page_head.tpl (design/standard/templates/page_head.tpl) -->
CODE
<!-- STOP: including template: design/standard/templates/page_head.tpl (design/standard/templates/page_head.tpl) -->

whereas on the other siteaccesses it isn't. As the start/stops are 'commented out' it doesn't cause any problems with the running of the site, but it's also appearing in the google sitemap, which is stopping google from accepting it.

Can anyone suggest why this code is appearing on the one siteaccess and not on the others?

Thanks!

Hi Tony

Take a look at http://ezpedia.org/wiki/en/ez/debug_templatesettings

Hi Kristof!

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly.

I wondered if it was something to do with debug,

but my site.ini.append.php for that siteaccess has the following settings for debug:

[DebugSettings]
DebugOutput=disabled
DebugRedirection=disabled

[TemplateSettings]
ShowUsedTemplates=disabled
Debug=disabled
ShowXHTMLCode=disabled

And in the admin pages in the 'quick settings' box for that siteaccess, none of the debug boxes are checked.

Did you also check the override settings?

What do you mean by the override settings?

debug is set to off in /settings/siteaccess/siteaccess_name/site.ini.append.php

I can't see anything in /settings/override/site.ini.append.php
or /settings/siteaccess/siteaccess_name/override.ini.append.php
that relates to debug.

Where/what do you mean?

Does anyone have any further advice?

If it helps the siteaccess which doesn't display the debug code is www.nonihorses.co.uk and the one that does is www.nonihorses.org

debug settings in the site.ini.append.php files for the two are exactly the same!

From everything you have shared I hear the following...

1. The siteaccess settings in file 'site.ini.append or site.ini.append.php) for the siteaccess used by 'nonihorses.org'

Which mst contain this combination of characters (at the least) to prevent the display of the for mentioned output.

[TemplateSettings]
Debug=disabled

This is the setting which controls the output of hidden source xhtml commented include template debug output.

This is the setting which it sounds like the output you want to remove from that siteaccess alone.

I am guessing yet it sounds like you host both sites from difference siteaccess configurations using a single eZ publish installation. If this is true, one might rule out any settings in settings/override/site.ini* from causing the problem experienced in the siteaccess, 'nonihorses.org'.

Please! Be certain you clear all cache using the admin each time before testing, after you make a change, you might have a related form of cache enabled unknowingly preventing the display of all your changes the moment you make them. This can be a regular problem if not addressed either via configuration or cache clearing.

Or it can be defined in a site.ini.append in one of the extension or in the settings/override....

To be on the safe side, add in your settings/site.ini.append:

# If enabled will add code to display the template name in the browser
# If Debug is disabled then nothing happens
ShowXHTMLCode=disabled

Sorted!

For some reason, clicking 'clear all caches' from the admin panel wasn't doing it!
(had done so repeatedly)

I brought the debug up, cleared all caches from there and that seems to have done the trick.

Thanks for your help guys!
