eZ People,
Hey all. I'm updating an old site that's going just a little bit dynamic and was wondering if there was an easier way to integrate static pages into eZ Publish than using eZ Sitecopier. I downloaded it today and, to be frank, the Read Me file's a bit beyond me. I was wondering if it's possible to create empty or blank nodes; that way I could use the old static pages as "custom" templates that would be published when the node is called up. Can I create a node that consists of just a "blank" or a space (as in one tap of the space bar key) without a title etc that appears on a webpage? Short of that is there a simplified install for eZ Sitecopier. I'm operating on Windows XP with the latest eZ Publish package install (3.4 I think). Thanks much.

Yes, you can have empty nodes. I have set up a couple of pages on one site that only display the content of their override templates.

Ah, that's good to know. I figured it could be a pretty common request, but I haven't figured out how to pull it off. How'd you do it on your site? Thanks much.

The steps I use are as follows:
1. Create a copy of pagelayout.tpl with a new name 2. Modify the new pagelayout.tpl so it shows the static content 3. Create a new node (I tend to use folders, but you can use whatever you want) at the location I want the page to appear. 4. Set up an override for that specific node, using the new pagelayout.tpl5. Reset the caches and navigate to that node to ensure the right template is used.
