When I try to create a user account, I get the message saying
User account: Login name already exists, please choose another one.

I already removed this user account, but apparently it still lies in the database. Also I see roles still assigned to the users I have removed.

Is this a bug, or am i doing something wrong?

Maybe a draft still lingers around, or it is still in the trashcan?

Hello,
I have exactly same problem. I use version 3.3-4. I checked tables and found, that old users are removed from ezcontentobject, however are not removed from ezuser.

So the question is again: is this a bug or there is some reasons for system acting like this.

Paul is right.

If you delete a user, it will still be available in "Trash"

You have to remove it from there as well before it will be deleted from the ezuser table.

I have a user in the trash who "refuses" to be emptied.

The account got there in an odd way -- I was testing my "login" and "register" pages so I first did a login with the account XYZ, then went to the "sign up" (register) page which takes me to user/register

(Note -- I didn't realize that /register functions as a "user profile edit" if a user is logged in. I expected it to always act as a "new user sign up". Any help with that would be appreciated, by the way <grin> )

The fields on the /register page were filled in with the info from the XYZ account. I didn't want to make any changes so I clicked on "Discard" instead of "Publish" which seems to have royally screwed up my database.

That user account got moved to the trash and I'm getting this debug output:

Module start 'user'
Undefined index: EditLanguage in <site> /content/kernel/content/attribute_edit.php on line 60
Object not found

And, as I mentioned, when I try to empty the trash of this user I get
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/ftkfztae/public_html/content/kernel/content/trash.php on line 64
Fatal error: eZ publish did not finish it's request
The execution of eZ publish was abruptly ended, the debug output is present below.

(NOTE -- No further output is given)

If I try to restore that user I get:

Error / kernel (3)
