How do you delete VAR/cache?

...well, that probably sounds quite stupid but to clear my cache I guess there are two ways:

from the command prompt run:

/bin/shell/clearcache.sh

or

Delete all subfolders of VAR?

(I have tried number one and it doesn't seem to do the job since there are still some files left in the endless subfolders of VAR)

In one way, how do I effectively CLEAR cache? :>

Kindly,
Mikael

I usually do 'rm -fr var/cache' since I heard that clearcache.sh wouldn't delete some overrides (not sure though).

the clearcache script will default clear all view caching, however, some cache files about the template structure will still be left (this can be a bit confusing when you are creating new templates). To clear all cache you should run:
./bin/shell/clearcache.sh --clear-all
