I have built a site with 2 sections (to be expanded to 4 eventualy) - each is a node tree below the root node.
I have built a custom navigation system to allow changing between the two areas of the site and set up the left menu so that the root node is not shown (i.e. the menu starts at the second level and just shows the navigation for the area of the site you are in).
In each area of the site I want to have a Home link at the top of the left menu - I don't want Home to be the parent of the other top level navigation items within the areas it needs to be at the same level.
How can I do that?

To clarify the problem:
Red Area and Yellow Area are second level nodes.
Red Area Home is a third level node as are a load of other pages beneath Red Area (the same applies to Yellow Area) - we want all of these nodes to appear at the same level.
The Breadcrumb includes Red Area at its root (by changing the settings for the breadcrumb) - or Yellow Area of you follow a top menu link to the Yellow Area.
By Clicking Red Area in the Breadcrumb you end up one level above the Red Home so you have the problem of 2 Red Area "home pages".
SOLUTION:
Use URL translation to redirect requests for Red Area to Red Area Home as described here:
