Now i use RSS to read news I notice the use of the Atom syndicate feed by many people nowadays.
There seems to be some contraversy over the use of Atom feeds:

Could an Atom feed be added to eZ Publish?
Given that there are different types of syndicate feeds, RSS, Atom, Javascript, etc maybe the module needs to be renamed to something like 'syndication'.

Atom should be included especially because it is an open source standard like EZ. It's not as widespread, but people should have the choice. There's clearly a lot of support and expansion that could be done in the way EZ Publish handles blogs, especially in terms of better syndication and customizing published feed export attributes.
Perhaps the export feeds should be templated?
