It would be very nice if the forum had some possibility to show me replies to my own messages. Email notification would be appreciated by many too, I guess.

I second the notification and also a better mechanism of searching/ordering forums... It would be interesting if eZ created a soap server for each site so you could query info from the desktop.... I would be interesting to see where that goes.

I think the proper way to do this would be to use RSS, not SOAP.
There are many RSS modules for a lot of different programs whereas SOAP is, IMHO, for the most part a bloated piece of shit (anyone who needs a protocol that has support for circular references should be thinking about streamlining his datastructures).

Unless you really need to interface with other SOAP sites, I'd say go for XML RPC. That one is easier to use and IMHO a much saner protocol.
